About Reed

Reed Dickson's Photo

Reed Dickson is the program manager for faculty development at PimaOnline where he teaches courses for faculty in online pedagogy, instructional design and educational technology. Reed also designs and coordinates the award-winning PimaOnline Educators' Conference which now utilizes D2L as a conference management platform.  At Pima, Reed also teaches courses for students in composition, creative nonfiction, poetry writing and literature.

Previously, Reed directed a K-12 teacher education program at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City and has over twenty years of experience in teaching, faculty development, teacher education, educational technology and instructional design. As a designer of professional learning experiences, Reed takes a UX approach that builds upon human-centered design while pursuing "innovations of meaning." 

As an advocate for student-centered learning and faculty-centered praxis, Reed has facilitated hundreds of local and national workshops that bridge educators' core beliefs and aspirations with emerging teaching, course design and edtech practices.  Beyond Pima, Reed presents around online learning, educational technology and writing practices through Educause, AACU, OLC, ITC, POD, D2L Fusion, MLA, NCTE, etc.
